Decorating Your Own Sweet Lolita Dresses

If you are a fan of the Lolita clothing fashion and you will be interested in my tipic today. I will introduce some ways on how to decorate your own sweet Lolita dresses and you can have a reference if you are interested in this clothing style.

One of the best things about the Sweet Lolita look is that you can transform any regular garment whether it is a skirt, dress, or blouse, into this popular Japanese fashion. Unlike the Gothic Lolita look, the Sweet Lolita one uses white and pastel colors which can be combined together in one outfit. For example, a white Edwardian style blouse can be combined with a pale pink or blue skirt. This article will describe how a plain gathered skirt can be decorated using lace, welded pearl strands, or bridal lace.

If a plain gathered skirt is not already part of your wardrobe, scour the consignment and thrift stores for one. Make sure the skirt is in excellent condition without any tears, holes, stains, or missing buttons or broken zippers. If the skirt has its own fabric tie at the waist, that is a bonus. Many Victorian style dresses and skirts had ties that would form a large bow in the back.

The color of the lace does not have to match the color of the skirt. You can use white against a pink skirt, or lavender or pale green lace for a bright contrast. Measure the entire circumference of the skirt at the hem so you will know how much lace will cover that area. If desired, a second row of lace can be added midway between the waistline and the hem of the skirt. To do this, use a tape measure and place it between the hemline, and waistline.
